Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020)

This game is a remake of the classic Final Fantasy VII game that was released in 1997. This remake game only covers the first few hours of the original game, but it has been expanded. Average gameplay time is 40 hours! You don't need to play the original game to play this either. Since it is only part of the story, you may be confused or lost about certain aspects in the story which is fine. If you're impatient you can always play the original game. This remake doesn't replace the original game because its quite different so I do recommend playing both if the game interests you!

Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack

The Royal pack adds a number of new content to Final Fantasy XV. If you get the Windows version or the Royal edition version of the game, it will include this new content as well. The pack is $15 and is about 14 GB big. This pack contains spoilers so please beware of that before you proceed with this post! I will list and explain the contents in detail!

Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Comrades

This is the multiplayer expansion for Final Fantasy XV. Its free if you have the season pass otherwise its $19.99 USD. You will need Playstation Plus to connect to other players, but you can play solo and it will pair you with ai. This dlc expansion does take place a certain time in the game's story so it does have a bit of story.

So far this plays similar to Monster Hunter.  You unlock missions by gathering power which you get from doing missions. Mission vary from hunts, defend, escort, and urgent. There's a power grid that goes throughout the world map and its what you use the power to unlock quests and outposts. As you complete quests you also unlock other quests and the occasional character scenes. I haven't seen much story, but I don't think anything really new should be revealed anyways.

The missions can get challenging and you do grind a bit in order to get enough power to unlock stuff on the grid. The grind isn't too bad though. Unless you're doing it solo like I am the grind is much longer as the ai wouldn't do as much damage or prioritize enemies as much as a real person. It would be easier to clear missions several levels higher with other people than ai. There are ingredients on the map during missions and monsters would drop them. These ingredients will heal you when you get get killed and there will be a 20 second timer till you get up. If you don't have an ingredient you won't be able to get up. You can only hold one ingredient too. After you complete missions, you get to eat a meal and the meal depends on what ingredients you and your party got. The meal will give you buffs that will carry to your next mission. Monica mainly is the one cooking, but there are chances of other characters cooking for you as well. I've only gotten Cid to cook a meal.

You can upgrade your weapons with Cid. Upgrading is different from the main game. Monster parts are used to upgrade your weapons and each level up certain stats and give exp. Each weapon has its their own max level as well. You can also  remodel them to a new weapon with an even higher max level. Some weapons have a bar underneath one or two stats. This bar fills up when you upgrade the weapon that levels those stats up. The bar will glow white when its maxed out. Doing this will give the option to remodel the weapon. I didn't know about this till later when I watched others play this dlc.

Another thing that people could somewhat miss is that you can unlock refugees from the power grid. You need to unlock like three of them around the same area. A pop up message should come out when you're in the outpost saying you can elect a leader. To do this you have to find a group of three people. Once you do you can elect one of them and each gives a unique bonus like discounts or giving you free stuff or a gil. Sometimes you also get a refugee that would unlock a trading post which you can get more weapons or monster parts. You can't change the leader so don't rush this decision! If you choose Treasure, you pick them up at Lestallum at the supply shop. The more refugee treasure leaders you pick, the more treasures you get! Treasures are just monster parts which helps lessens all the farming.

So far this dlc is pretty decent but it isn't finished as one of the outposts is listed but you can't unlock it and you can't get all the sigils yet too. So they will update this multiplayer mode, but no idea at the moment how soon that will be. Also the Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis does make an appearance. There is a final boss and a ending which I find to be an interesting way of making your character a part of the FFXV story.

UPDATE!!! 3/5/2018
A big update has come! This update adds new quests, features, and outposts. One of the new quests is a unique one where you play either Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, or Gladio on their journey from Hammerhead to Insomnia at the end of the main game.

To get to the new outposts, you must get the 7 Royal sigils first to clear that part of the main quest. The quest will then say to develop a new power supply line. Nothing new comes up on the map so you will have to do a quest or two until a black chocobo arrives to Lestalum. Find this chocobo in the city, in the alley way by the powerplant. When you have the chocobo work for the engineers, there will be a new type of route unlocked. This route goes to Cape Caem. This new chocobo feature seem to require using chocobos that have certain stats stats.

The chocobos have a few other things you can do with them. Some quests will have a chocobo icon and you can capture them by beating the quest. Chocobos you have will be at the Hidden Harbor at Cape Caem. You can train them there and even a coliseum for them there.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is a mobile remake port of Final Fantasy XV. The game is much simpler and there some slight changes from the original main game that I think it be worth playing for those who had finished the main game. The first chapter is free to play and try out. The rest of the chapters locked by a pay wall. Chapter 2 and 3 are $0.99 and the chapters after that are $3.99. You can save money by buying all the chapters for $19.99. Its quite an expensive price tag for a "mobile" game, but I think its worth it. If you don't have a console or a good enough computer to get the main game, this is a great and cheaper way to play the game.

Chapter 1 is like a tutorial, but its not a bad tutorial. This chapter ends when they reach the hill overseeing the city after it falls. This chapter is quite linear. The main quests have its own map to explore and fight, but once you finish the quest you proceed to the next quest and map. You can't go back so be sure to take your time to pick up items and fight as many of the monsters as you can. Items can be found on the ground, in sand piles, and in boxes. They glow and flash so its easy to spot them. A new thing in this game is the treasure map. There's a certain area that you can dig and get items. You can treasure maps as clues to where to find them.

All the characters auto attack, but you can tap to which enemy you want Noct to focus on, and there be prompts to dodge, parry, and using your friend's special abilities. As you progress in the story you will get more weapons. You can toggle between them including Royal arms and magic. You can only carry one type of magic, and when you find another elemental node in the map, it will replace what you have earlier if you haven't used it already. Royal arms has a time limit and a cool down.

You will have to finish Chapter 1 before you can buy more chapters. This game only downloads a chapter at a time so it won't download all the chapters onto your device and take up space. There is also Cloud saving as well as local saving. Saving is only done automatically so there's no manual options. I personally don't think this is a problem as it auto saves relatively often. I don't think you'd lose a lot of progress from it. You can also change languages both in text and audio!

Overall, I do really like this Pocket version! It is already given me a lot of playtime so I definitely find the $20 price to be totally worth it. I saw some people say this is a summary of the main game story, but I really don't think its a summary at all. It has all the scenes from the main game, but the open world part is definitely not in this so you can't explore a big map. The artstyle is unique and cute, but it is slightly weird. It hasn't bothered me though, and performance wise it plays pretty well on my iPhone7 at 30fps.

World of Final Fntasy Meri Mero

World of Final Fantasy now has a mobile app game! Its only in Japanese but hopefully it can come out globally. Like with the console game, this mobile game you collect mirages and battle with them. The story is one of those typical "recover your lost memories" kind of deal. If you like WOFF than I would recommend checking this game out.

Like with most mobile games, there is gatcha, battles nodes, and upgrading. Mirages are the monsters you use to battle with, and its like Pokemon. You can get mirages from gacha or as drops from battling. The other items that get dropped from battles are used to upgrade mirages. Each item upgrades certain things to mirages like the purple block things are used to level up, the seed thing with a heart does HP. When you fill the bar or gauges up you can unlock new abilities. You will have to upgrade the star level of that mirage in order to access to the other abilities. To do that you will can to get doubles of the mirage and get medals from them. You also need star medals which I've only seen as a reward for completing certain missions in battle.

The five buttons on the button are: Adventure, Mirage, Garden, Gacha, and Hunt. Adventure is where you go battle. There are battle nodes and each has 3 missions or battle challenges. There will be a cube golem in the map that will have a certain number of missions you need to complete in order for it to stop blocking your path. There is also a dark cloud with red eyes that will be a boss battle. In the battle mode, the mirages melee attack automatically. On the UI below, the top left is speeding up or lowing down the battle.  On the lower left is obviously a pause button where you can look up enemy info. The bottom right is a Manual or Auto battle mode switch button. Each of your mirage will have a AP circle gauge. When this fills up and starts flashing it can do an ability. In Manual mode you will have to tap on it and it will prompt you to choose an enemy to attack. In Auto mode it will use an ability automatically. You may notice numbers come up when you tap on your mirages. This is queuing the order of which mirage you want to use their ability in. In order to get the mirage to stack up and attack the gauge in the middle needs at least one block filled. The top right is the summoning FF characters but since I have yet to get one I can't say how its used. All I know is you need to get a certain mirage from gacha, unlock the ability to summon the FF character, and in battle do a stacking ability to summon. You start off with 3 slots for mirage sin battle, but the other three spots will unlock when you get to level 7 to 9-ish so its not a long wait.

The Hunt is just sending out your mirages to gathering items for upgrading. The Garden is your main hub. You can set mirages to appear there in the Mirage screen, and sometimes they may give you presents with items. There hasn't been any events or anything yet I may keep playing and update this at a later date.

Final Fantasy XV Ignis DLC

Ignis dlc is the last dlc for Final Fantasy XV in 2017. Compare to Gladio and Prompto's, this dlc has more story significance. I will highly recommend that those who want to play or watch playthroughs of this to finished the main game first. Ignis' dlc does spoil the main game's ending. This dlc also has multiple endings, but you will have the beat the dlc first in order to unlock the other endings. Its take about 1-2 hours to go through this dlc, and about another hour more for the extra stuff. It is short like the other dlcs, but this is probably the best out of the three. I will warn there there will be spoilers in the rest of this post!

Ignis' combat isn't as drastically different from Noct compare to Gladio and Prompto. Ignis will mainly be using daggers, the weapon change UI changes to just changing the element of the daggers from ice, fire, and lightning. The triangle button is to charge up his focus and he will do a special attack once its fully charged. The tutorial guide said Ignis would dodge attacks when he focuses but I have yet to figure out how. Square is the normal dodging button. Other than the focus attack, Ignis has his own techniques abilities with the technique bar that you can select with the L1 button. He has high jump where he uses a spear, and overclock which gives bonus damage to a random element. The cooking technique is locked behind one of the scattered shops in Altissa. However you can't buy them unless you beat Ignis' dlc story first. You can make a separate Altissa area save as the shop will open up when you beat the story so you don't have to go through the beginning again. There is another shop that sells different eyewear that you can equip onto Ignis.

Altissa has a number of treasure spots and a lot of items lying around. These are needed to sell so you can get enough money to buy the special items at the shop. Why you need money to get items even though there is nobody at the cashier is not important. There are also a number of documents that you can find. I have yet to find them all since they are pretty hard to find compare to Prompto's dlc. The hookshot/grappling hook is decent. It is different to travel around Altissa with it, and also much easier.

Now I will go into more spoiler territory now! The main objective for Ignis in this dlc is to save Noctis. There are three different endings. Your first playthrough there is only one ending you can get. Once you beat it the second route opens up. The second route has two endings: a good and a bad. Like with Prompto's dlc, you can roam around the map of Altissa freely. The map button is change to segment the city into districts and color code them to be enemy occupied or not. While it is optional, it got me to realize there are treasure spots and shops around. The boat scene is rather scripted so you don't get much freedom with it, but it was story related so I can see why they probably didn't want the player to have too much control over the boat. It is really neat to see all the action going on the background through.

You do meet Ravus after the boat stuff and it is much more enjoyable to not have to fight alone. Though sadly this team up didn't last long. Both are obviously going to the same place, and I was surprised to find myself having to fight against Ravus. Ardyn comes to play as well. It was interesting that they put on a camera view switch during that scene. Also I didn't quite expect Iggy to lose his eyesight from the ring. Its also a weird twist that when he saw Pryna died, he got a vision of the future. Didn't expect they spoil the whole main game ending so this is why I advise people to play this after beating the main game. But it definitely makes Iggy's next actions a lot more sense. When you refuse Ardyn you get to fight against him, but I don't think its actually possible to beat him. You get the first ending after the battle is over. It will you extra scenes that spoils the rest of the main. They even put an extra camping scene which was touching and sad.

The second route you can easily access at the menus screen. You will have to go through the scene until the choice pops up and you can choose to accept Adryn. Now things get weird here. Iggy wakes up in Zegnautus Keep and a unknown Astral like female voices talks to Ignis to tell him about Adryn's past and stuff. While she didn't really say anything new, it makes sense that we have to hear this again since this is some alternate path of the main story. Iggy is there to be used as bait for Noctis, but since Iggy knows what will happen to Noctis he wants to stop Ardyn and he still has ring on him. Now you have to fight Ardyn and this is probably the toughest Ardyn fight yet. Once you get Ardyn's HP down to a certain point, there will be a message that will say the effects of the ring has worn off. You get three choices to give up, sacrifice your life, or risk your life. If you want to continue the fight choose to risk you life. This choice will come up again after you get Ardyn' hp down to a certain point. This will repeat till you can't choose risk your life and you have to choose sacrifice your life to continue the fight. There will be a 3-4 minute timer where you have to beat Ardyn in or you get the bad ending. The bad ending is a bit short but I think its worth seeing. If you beat Ardyn you get the special alternate ending which I think made a lot of people happy including myself.

This alternate ending is neat and I don't think its something that has happened in a FF game before. I personally would not mind more of this in future dlc. Though I know there are people who didn't enjoy that alternate ending or see it as just the devs sucking up to the fans. Regardless, I do think this is a worthy of playing so I do highly recommend it! I have yet to beat Noctis in the special training fight. What you unlock from this dlc is Spelldaggers, an outfit, and the cooking technique once you unlock it in the dlc.

Final Fantasy XV - Assassin's Festival

I was so surprised that there was a collaboration between Final Fantasy XV and Assassin's Creed. As silly as it looks, I was quite excited since I liked the Chocobo Moogle Festival so I was glad to get more of it. This festival is free and is only available till the end of January 2018.

The festival takes place in Lestallum and there is a story questline. Thankfully Noct isn't alone this time, and the gang are together though only Prompto tags along with Noct. The story quest is silly, but I enjoyed seeing Noct getting into AC. This quest line was buggy as hell at first, but they have fixed it. I played it before they fixed it and I had to restart the game to get rid of the bugs. Being able to climb up to the rooftops of this city is really neat. I like being able to see this city in a different way.

When you finish the story quest line, there is a Treasure Hunt quest line you can do. This quest is a bunch of riddles, and I had trouble figuring some out myself so I did look them up. You do get an item after finishing it. Though this festival didn't have a weird item like the Dream Egg. You also get some photo frames, and unlock the assassin's clothes.

Overall, I did as much as I can but I don't want to 100% this. This take me two play sessions. It didn't have a fishing game like in the ChocoMog festival that takes awhile to get all the fishing prizes. This festival may not be for everyone as some may find it too silly for their liking. So I will only say that if its something that you want to play around with, it is free so do take the time to play with this festival!

Final Fantasy XV Episode Prompto

Prompto's DLC is finally out! If you were in North America, you may have experienced how lame PSN was with an error that kept season pass holders unable to download this dlc because it still had the price of $4.99 instead of it being free for several hours. As if it wasn't already bad enough we had to wait like a day later after regions like Australia who get theirs at midnight. NA gets it at the earliest 11am EST. Anyways, this DLC focuses on Prompto and is more about his background and his insecurities. There will be spoilers ahead, but I will say this a pretty decent dlc for $5. Also there isn't anything new storywise in this so I don't think its actually needed in the main game. I know there are people thinking stuff like this should be in the main game, but so far I don't feel that way.

Final Fantasy XV + Prompto DLC from E3 (2017)

During the first day of E3, a trailer for the Final Fantasy XV Universe was played during the Square Enix Presents booth and streams. We got a snippet of Prompto's DLC gameplay from it and the release date of June 27 for it! It also shows a bit of the off road driving with Regalia Type-D that will be in the June update.

The same day, a short video of the guest composer Naoshi Mizuta is released. During the FFXV Universe program, they showed some gameplay. The story is mainly Prompto trying to get back to his friends. There are several locations in his DLC. He has melee and range attacks. He also has special attacks which are Stealth kill and Overkill. He still has his camera so he can also take photos and slefies. Main campaign is about 2 hours. There are missions in the game as well. There are extra content post main campaign like in Gladio's DLC. Again this comes out on June 27th!

A new DLC trailer came out on the 19th that reveals more of the dlc.

A new ATR streamed on June 23rd and they showed a bit more of the game including the snow mobile mini game. This starts around the 50:00 mark.

The FFXV social media accounts has also been posting short gameplay clips (links lead to twitter): here, here, here, and here

There's also these fun photos that you can photoshop someone in as either Aranea or Prompto!

The other trailer that was shown is one for King's Knight mobile game. Scheduled to be out sometime this year.

More news at the upcoming Gamescom in August!

Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Yokohama Special Stage Apperance

This is a special Yokohama stage event with various staff from ongoing FF titles, mostly from mobile titles. Its a 3 hour even where they talk about their titles. These titles are: FFXV, FF Brave Exvius, FF Mobius, FF Recorder Keeper, FF XII, FF XI, FF XIV, and FF Dissidia Opera Omnia.

FFXV announced their June update which includes the ability for Regalia to go off the road. Also the cup ramen hat that first came with the FF cup ramen set will be available. They also announced the composer for Prompto's DLC to be Naoshi Mizuta who is the FF IX composer.

They mostly talked about the 30th anniversary events going on in their game, and their collaboration with FFXIV in their mobile games. FFXII has a collab with Reebok for with a themed shoe. FF14 director Yoshida also showed off his game's collaboration with Momotaro Jeans with tshirt and jeans that is available on the Square-enix Japan e-store. They also have login bonuses for this event, these bonuses are not in Global versions of the game unfortunately. In Brave Exvius, you get 3 rare summon ticket right now, and everyday from 1-30th of July you get one free rare summon. In Mobius, you get the moogle design soy sauce bottle as a free fairy login bonus. Mobius has a FF14 collab with 3 FF14 themed jobs, Ultima Weapon boss, and Ultima weapon sword. Record Keeper has a bunch of login in bonuses as a celebration for FF14's expansion release. They also have FF14 weapons gacha from the 20th-28th. Dissidia Opera Omnia will have Thancred as a playable character next week. They will also have Xperia smartphone cases with the chibi Dissidia character art on them. The producer of Opera Omnia also is the producer of Pictlogica and he announces that FF Pictlogica has a FF14 event and the game will come to 3DS. FFXI hits its 15th year anniversary, and FF14 is looking forward to their new expansion release.

Since its a Yokohama special, there's special stuff going on in the Yokohama. Brave Exvius has goods and a bento with FF design printed soy sauce bottles. There is also a special projection mapping on the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel building that celebrates FF30th and FFXIV. It will play only this weekend! Queen's Square Yokohama will have banners of Dissidia Opera Omnia up on till the 11th. The FF Play Arts figures will be displayed at the Yokohama Doll house. There also be a train and a train station will have a FF theme decoration. You can visit the official japanese page that features all this here.

The second half of the stage event is them talking about their career, and answering questions like what their favorite FF game is, what FF character is their favorite, and even who is their waifu. Some of these questions were also given to the audience and graphics have been made to show the results. At the end they showed what the projection mapping show. It looks really neat so I definitely recommend checking that out.

DISSIDIA Final Fantasy NT on PS4 Early 2018 + E3

The Japanese DISSIDIA stream earlier has announced that this game will finally be on a console after only being in arcades in Japan for like 2 years. Amazon has leaked this before the stream which the people at the stream weren't that happy about. Preorders are up but no exact release date has been announced except that it be out in early 2018. The "NT" combines "new tale", "new tournament", and "new trails" as one thing.

If you're not familiar with this game, Dissidia is a fighting game featuring Final Fantasy characters like Super Smash Bros. The first two games were only on PSP, so this third will be the first not on handheld. There is a mobile app game version of this though it is a bit different. They all have a story mode though I don't remember what it was. The only good part about it having the characters interact with each other. Not exactly sure how they will handle the story for this game as NT doesn't have a story mode. They say the story will be told through cut scenes after fights. We'll just have to wait and see how this is handled.

The game has so far 22 playable characters, 7 summons, and 10 stages. There's also weapons and moogles that you can equip. There are gil and experience points to build the characters. The stream showed the schedule for the rest of the year. The newest stage they showed is from FF3 called Floating Continent. The schedule shows there are two more new stages coming on July and November. As well as 4 more new characters from August to November! Noctis is confirmed to be one of them. Makes me wonder if he will look the same or not. I say this because Cloud in this Dissidia doesn't look the same from the Remake Cloud.

The arcade version will get updates before PS4 version does. The PS4 version will be playable at E3 as well. While I am a bit interested in this game, I haven't decided whether this is something I would want to play vs just watching someone else.

At E3, some more information on the game and gameplay videos shown at IGN Live. As well as Squire Enix booth interviews. Here's some notes from that interview:

-  The "Nameless" part of the character names are where player's PSN ID goes
- It is only 3 vs 3. Single player offline you play against AI.
- You can vote for the summon you want as only one can be your team's summon. There are crystals in the arena that can help fill your summon gauge faster.
- the arched lines between you and the players indicates who is targeting you. Blue line means you are being targeted and red means you are being attacked.
- You win by defeating anyone on the opposing team 3 times.
- You can equip three different skills. Characters like Lightning has more than one skill sets to imitate the paradigm combat system in FFXIII
-  Characters can have different outfits, but it is only cosmetic.

 - There are 4 classes. Assassin, Vanguard, and Marksman are more basic but they have weaknesses and strengthns against each other than balances them out. Specialist are more unique by having gimmicks the other classes don't have.
- Summons can pause the battle time for a minute. Battle has a time limit of four minutes.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia

This is the new Dissidia game for mobile that came out not too long ago. Its only in Japanese at the moment, but hopefully it won't take a year for it go global but it might anyways. Unlike the console versions, this mobile game isn't a fighting game. It takes the story mode of the games instead where you gather characters from Final Fantasy series and have them fight villains and monsters. Its quite similar to Final Fantasy Record Keeper.

Each chapter has a number of characters you can unlock. The chapter maps have various nodes that you can freely pick from. Clearing these nodes can unlock more nodes. The speech bubbles with "..." are cutscenes, the bullet shaped shields are battles and these come in different colors, a gate with a magic circle have requirements you need to meet to unlock, and the black hole looking icon are the story destination you go towards.

The combat has the stagger mechanic to it. There are two types of points and attacks: Brave and HP. Brave are normal attacks to get the enemies to Break. Brave also generates Brave points but doesn't not lower the enemies' HP. You don't want to be using HP attacks at the start unless the enemies are weak enough to kill them without breaking them. Till you've hit them with Brave attacks enough times it will go into Break state. This is where you use all the saved up Brave points which will become the HP attack hit points. You will have to use Brave attacks again to make HP attacks effective. Using HP attacks with 0 Brave will result in the HP attack to hit for 0 damage. You don't want to have 0 Brave points because this system also is implemented to your party members. Enemies can break you and they will deplete your Brave points when they attack you. Having 0 Brave points you are going to get Break state when the enemy attacks you so keep that in mind. There is an Auto mode so you can easily leave the small fry fighting to the computer.

Characters are mainly unlocked through story, but there will be special events that you can get more characters from. At the moment you can get Squall and Vanille. Each character is assigned to one of six colored crystals. These crystals are used to give characters bonus stats and unlock skills. The Gacha system for this game are for weapons and armor. There are also Summons but you can only have one equipped. They have a gauge that needs to be filled up before you can use them. Each summon buffs your party members for example the Chocobo boosts HP for 50%.

Sure there might be too many FF mobile games out there now, but that sure doesn't stop me from getting this one especially its one of the few with voices. The voices are minimal, but its fine. The 3D design isn't the best though its not another pixel style. As a FF fan, it is kind of fun to see the characters interact with each other in the talking scenes. If that sounds appealing to you, be sure to give this game a try!

Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy VII Remake Cloud Strife

The first FF7 Remake figure is of course Cloud who has finally been released and arrived safe and sound. He's is my first Cloud figure so I won't be comparing other Cloud figures to this one. I'm overall satisfied with the figure. He isn't as impressive as AC Sephiroth, but I've expected that. Cloud's design hasn't been consistent so I'm not attached to anyone of his designs. This Cloud is definitely the least feminine looking I've seen so far. He looks better in person than in photos too.

Lets talk about his head. His head is a bit bigger than AC Sephiroth's. His face has sharper features and doesn't have that soft looking face that AC Cloud has. His face is also a tad skinnier than the Remake Cloud model on FF Mobius. Personally would like to have him a bit more softer and less skinny looking. Otherwise he almost looks exactly like the Remake trailer. As for his hair, its quite detailed. Definitely a lot more spikes going on in this design. Perhaps there's a bit too much detail. I would like some locks to be more flatter than having all these raised strands. Its sort of tempting to sand them down a bit, but I don't have any means of repainting so I can't do that. It does look more impressive from afar though.

As for his body, I find his torso a tad too long and thin for my liking especially around his waist belt area. Its not really flattering. I feel that if his arms were a little thinner it whelp balance it out. His arms also seem not the most balanced. It looks like his forearm is shorter than his upper arm. Almost tempting to want to sand down his bicep a little bit, but again I don't have paints. These are just nitpicks though. The clothing and everything else looks pretty dang good. He even got a cute sculpted butt. Sephiroth definitely didn't get that. Cloud stand 10.5 inches tall, but its quite near the 11 inch because of his hair. AC Sephiroth is still taller than him. His shoulders are about 2.5 inches in width, his waist is almost 1.5 inches in width. His arms are nearly 4 inches long and his legs are 5 inches long from his crotch to the bottom of his shoes.

On his back, you can pull off this center piece to attach the Buster Sword. This little piece is a bit difficult to get off at first since its so flushed in there. It was inevitable that I got a slight dent on it. This piece isn't the piece you use to stick the sword in place. There's another smaller piece that does that. Only one end will fit through the opening in the sword, but it will be tight. It was hard to take it out again. Using a pencil shaped rubber eraser was the most gentle way of taking it out for me. The Buster Sword is neat looking. It has some wear details on the tip and the edges. The blade is 8 inches long, the handle is 1.5 inches so overall the sword is about 9.5 inches in length. Its width is about 1.5 inches.

He also comes with extra 3 pairs of hands and a stand. I think this figure is pretty good for the price. Whether they will make more Cloud after this Remake game its hard to say. So if you're a fan and is excited for the Remake, I think its worth getting this figure!

Final Fantasy XV Episode Gladiolus DLC

Gladio's episode is finally out! You can add it from the online store and in the game it is under Downloadable Contents in the title screen. Not sure about Xbox, but internet is required. While this DLC is separate from the main game there are stuff you can unlock that the main game will get from it. Spoilers obvious are ahead so please go back if you are avoiding it.

Final Fantasy XV Chapter 13 Verse 2

The new patch that came out today has story updates for Chapter 13. This update is free and I will talk a bit about it. This is the day before Gladio's DLC so this also will give you a preview of Gladio's gameplay will be like. Also this is obviously spoilers so please don't continue with the post if you don't want spoilers for Final Fantasy XV! One tip I will give is when you get to this chapter for the first time, choose Noctis first. You can switch to Gladio but you can't go back so keep that in mind!

Final Fantasy VII Remake New Screenshots

These new screenshots from the Final Fantasy VII Remake is rather neat. I know some vocal people will always mention they want turn based combat back, but at this point its hard to say what the battle system will be like. For me, it definitely doesn't look like it be like FFXV combat at all.

The interesting part of the combat UI is that there is an ATB gauge underneath the HP bar. The UI is definitely a lot more like the original combat than a more modern style combat. The HP and ATB bar is also above Cloud's head. From this, to me it may just seem the combat is some combo of KH and turn base probably similar to FFXIII. From the screenshot's angle, the camera isn't following Cloud as it does in FFXV. This makes sense since FFXV you can only control Noctis while FFVII you control everyone during battle. Nomura did wanted to bring a video but wasn't allowed to at the time. Perhaps we will finally get some footage of gameplay sometime this year at least. Mostly likely during E3 or Tokyo Game Show at the latest.

Nomura stated that they will keep the essence of the original game's universe in the remake. While its understandable they don't want to keep the scenes to the original rather than the modified ones in like Crisis Core. I wouldn't be too against them mentioning Sephiroth's old friends though since I did like that part of the compilation games. The producer Kitase has said they were nearly done with the voice acting of the main storyline. This statement does make it seem like they're probably nearly done, but it really doesn't say much. I highly doubt this means the voices for the whole story, but just the first installment of the game. Since its only the main storyline, that doesn't seem to include any side, background, or even battle voices. Since the first part will most likely just be all set in Midgar, they will have to get voices to do all the side stuff for the crossdressing part of the game. Just imaging what the Honey Bee will be like just makes me laugh.

While all this is very exciting and hype, we cannot fall into our own traps of setting high expectations on things. For this game especially, I personally am putting it on low expectations. While I'm not one to care about the changes and would rather welcome them to the game, I still wouldn't have high hopes. The original game is quite silly and to think of all those silly things into modern HD graphics is kind of hard to imagine. For a game that people generally look at it to be a serious and probably badass game I can't help but wonder how the devs will treat silly looking scenes and how people will react to them. All I can say for now is that I can't wait for this game!

Final Fantasy XV Timeline and Lore Theories (Spoilers)

When I heard people were able to glitch the game to go out of bounds in Final Fantasy XV, I've been watching a few videos of people exploring parts of the maps that we weren't able to access or get a clear look at. They have been very interesting and it does make you wonder. This lead me to lore theories which have been very interesting. Now the GDC had a FFXV panel and this timeline came up. Whats interesting is that alternate reality part on the FFXV line.

Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Sephiroth

I've been wanting this but didn't really plan on actually buying him. I did ended up getting him in the end since it is Final Fantasy VII 20th anniversary. Being one of my favorite games I feel I should have some merchandise since I really don't have many. This is the Advent Children movie version of Sephiroth so I am curious to see if a Remake version will be announced this year or not. I would be interested to see how it compares to this.

This is my first Play Arts figure so I want to compare it to other posable figures that I have like figma and azone dolls. So the box for Sephiroth is big. Its 10.5" wide, 12" in height, and 5.5" in depth. The box has a flap that has a magnetic closure. That magnetic was glued on but mine very easily fell off when I was trying to get the figure out. The plastic tray that held the figure is thin and flexible which made it very hard for me to take it out. I ended up ripping a half inch tear in the box before I had to open both sides of the box to take it out. The tray held the figure with the wing and sword  behind him. The 4 hands sat in it own spot on the upper left part of the tray. The wings and sword are held down by zip ties, but the hands aren't so they will fall out when you go to turn the tray over to undo the zip ties. So be sure to take the hands out before turning the tray around. There is also a cardboard slip that holds the pieces of the stand and some instructions. If I had the space, I would like to keep Sephiroth in the box.

Sephiroth himself is nearly 11" tall so it is my biggest and heaviest figure I have so far. He's has a ridiculous 8-9 heads tall proportion so his head does seem small for someone that is 6'1". The figure has a mild sweet plastic-y smell which is kind of interesting. As for his lovely face, Square has been pretty consistent with his design and for a good reason which is that he doesn't need changes like Cloud. So his face definitely matches how it looks in recent games.

His hair is beautifully done and designed. There's transparency in the hair that is more noticeable at the ends. The locks themselves branch out like a tree. The hair is very flexible and I really don't fear them breaking or tearing at all.

His coat is also flexible but not as much as his hair. The coat does have two layers, and the under layer is wrapped around his waist. There is one thin belt that closes the coat. Please don't be like me and try to undo it because its not a button that you can close again. Undoing the belt was pretty easy, but so far I wasn't able to put the peg back in which is fine. I do have plastic glue and super glue, but I am keeping it open anyways. I opened it because I wanted to see the detail of the soldier suspender and belt. The joints have different levels that clicks. So its quite clicky when you move the joints around. This makes this figure the stiffest compare to figma and azone that I have though I guess it makes poses more stable and less likely to change from gravity or accidentally bumping them. I like that he even has the ability to bend his toes too.

The sword is longer than Sephiroth, its 13.5" long. Its quite thin and light that I am trying to be gentle with it cause if it breaks that would be terrible. There is a left hand that you can hold the sword. The fingers aren't flexible so its not easy to get the sword through them.

The wing is pretty neat looking if you don't focus on the ball joints. The joints also are clicky. The outer third of the wing has a lot more poseable freedom than the smaller two parts of the wing. The detail of the feathers is nice and kind of mesmerizing. To attach the wing, there is a part of his back that you can popped off. The wings definitely makes him more impressive looking though I sadly don't have to space for it.

Overall, this Sephiroth figure is gorgeous. If you are fan I'd definitely think this figure is worth buying if figures are an interest to you. He is about $150 which isn't the most affordable price range. If you have any questions about this figure you can leave a comment below and I will try to answer as soon as possible.
