Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (Gyakuten Saiban 2)
This is the second game to the Ace Attorney series, and sequel to Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. It takes place a year later after the first game. There are only 4 cases with the first one being a tutorial on how to play the game. The first case starts off moments before Phoenix goes into court. He gets amnesia so his client helps him along with as strange as it sounds. This first case is rather long in my opinion for a tutorial, but it is a nice though provoking one. There's a couple of new features to this game and one of them is that you can present profiles or people. The second one is given to you in the second case.
The second case takes place before the first case to when you see Maya who has yet again been suspected of murder. There are a quite a few returning characters in this game, and with this case being quite centered to Maya and her family it seems a little too familiar with the first game. The really suspicious ones are kind of obvious in this case though it was quite hard to piece everything together. Its definitely an interesting case. This case we meet a new prosecutor too since we learn from Maya's questioning that Edgeworth has "disappeared" that this new character is filling in. There's also another new supporting character who is also a spirit medium like Maya and is related to her. Through her you get Maya's Magatama and with it you see people's secrets locked in Psyche-Locks. You have to look for and gather evidence to get them to unlock their secrets.
The third case is the most unique one with most of the characters being new. It takes place at the circus and you must uncover the secrets of the people who work there. Naturally these circus employees are quite a unique bunch. Though I don't particularly find this case all that interesting so I can't really say much about it.
The fourth and last case is quite thrilling. Like the second case, this one seems familiar to me because of the recurring characters, and like the first game its about a celebrities. The killer is quite shown though the challenge really is to prove it to court. Though it is not that simple nor at all what it seems once we uncover the truth. Phoenix is put in a difficult spot which I will not spoil, but it definitely makes this case the most interesting plus we finally reveal more about the new prosecutor and Edgeworth in this case. This is case is quite the most interesting one, and quite difficult.
What I really love about these games is the characters, and catching them on their lies. When you finally prove that one is guilty of murder or lies they show their true selves. The art of these characters is always well done in showing the murderer's "evil" appearance that it can be surprising. Though after the first game, you can see that there's a pattern that the people you questioned are going to be the murderer or they're hiding something so it can feel a little repetitive. Oh yeah, the music in this game is quite different from the first one, and I'm not exactly sure if I liked it or not. I just find the music in the first game to be more fitting. Anyways, I highly recommend these games though I may not find this game to be as good as the first one it is still enjoyable.
