Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion

I never heard of this until a youtuber said that she uses this. So when my acne control product ran out I bought this to try it out. Its pretty affordable and it comes in a grey and orange packaging. Its in a 1.7 fl oz squeeze tube with a nozzle. The hole is tiny.

This is a salicylic acid product and usually drugstore products that features it tend to dry and irritate my skin. Not sure if its the salicylic acid or not. I have tried the spot treatments and cleansers so since this is a lotion maybe I won't have the dryness issue. It is oil free and the box says its also non-comedogenic. It has a very light odor and it goes on the skin thinly so its quite lightweight. It has reduced the oiliness of my skin during the day. It has 2% salicylic acid so I hope it will help combat the acne and blackheads I've been getting probably due to the alcohol in the skincare products. There is no alcohol denat in this product which is really good.

The lotion box says it should visibly reduce acne swelling and redness within 8 hours. The first day I used it it helped reduce the present acne I had. After about a week of use I haven't had any irritations from it, but I still am getting breakouts. Haven't broken out this much for a long time. Not quite sure if this product caused it or something else. So I stopped using it for a week, and I still breakout! Went back to using it and stopped using the other moisturizer I paired it with. After a week my skin acted better so it was the other moisturizer that was causing my skin to break out. To wear the Rapid Clear by itself kind of gives this subtle tingling feeling but so far no irritation. After two weeks I feel that this doesn't do as good a job as the previous acne control products I've been using. The breakouts that I'm getting are ugly that I feel like I'm back in my teenager years. Not a fan of the way it makes my skin feel either.

If salicylic acid works for you then this might be worth trying out. If you're like me who's skin doesn't react to salicylic acid that well then don't buy this. Will update this post as I continue to use it.
