Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru
Touken Ranbu is a browser game that I've played and wrote about when it first came out. It has gotten alarmingly popular, and now it has an anime!My knowledge of Japanese history is very little, but the characters are all men and are personifications of historical swords. These swords are sent out to fight the History Retrograde Army which are demon like creatures that try to change history. While there are a lot of sword men, each are quite distinct. It would be hard to confuse any of them. The show is mostly about their day to day life living in this huge Japanese house. They have a Master that gives them chorus and sent them out to battle. Since this is the player in the game, the Master will probably never actually appear on screen.
This show is quite cute, and also absolutely silly. It does give some Japanese history. It kind of reminds me of Hetalia but the history part isn't a plot point in every episode. So far there hasn't been any fanservice. The episodes has been very innocent. Each episode has had new swords come into the house, and the most popular ones have yet to appear. The anime does seem to not have much of a plot or even a storyline, but I will watch it probably till the end. If you like guys being cute, I'd recommend this. Though I feel this should would appeal more to those who have played the game.
