Sta Mu (High School Star Musical)
I don't remember why I even started watching this, but I do like the Hosoyan so I'd like to watch at least one series with him in it. So this is one of those typical idol school shows but with boys. The boys and the story are quite otome/shoujo like. It has the typical social status of successful families and people. The main character is Hoshitani Yuuta who is a newbie to the music and only got interested in the music school due to some guy he saw dancing.
The show is about Hoshitani's group of a somewhat varied music background who failed to qualify but got chosen into a team anyways. Its clear that it be a story of them learning getting along and do something that exceeds expectations.
I suppose this show can be put in the musical genre since they do start singing out of nowhere and resume like it didn't happen. I don't remember if it did this every time. It is weird but I guess its a creative way for the character to express their thoughts and feelings instead of a inner monologue.
The animation is OK. Nothing terrible and the animation is not fluid. The art style isn't impressive either, and the boys look rather normal. The music is not at all something I would want to listen to.
Honestly the only reason I'm still watching this is seeing these boys get along and well be cute. They do get more cute as we learn more about them and when they soften their edginess.
Overall, its bearable. There's hardly any competition this season for a all boys do cute things show so if you need something like that I'd suggest try this one out. Otherwise, its not that worth it.
