Minions (2015)
Just saw Minions movie over it's opening weekend. I'm not a big fan of minions but just think they're cute. I wasn't expecting too much from this film either though I didn't think it will be bad that it would waste my time.
The movie is the typical 90 minutes of any animated movie. It tells the story of the minions from the beginning of time till before they meet Dru from Despicable Me. Throughout most of their existence, they've had bad luck with keeping their evil bosses. The story itself isn't too terribly cliche, and the minions weren't too annoying or obnoxious. You follow 3 minions, Kevin, Stuart, and Bob, on their journey to find a new boss.
The movie uses lots of popular history and pop icons as well as music. The minions even sing a few of them though it doesn't make the movie a musical since these singing scenes are really short. The jokes are silly as well though its not overkill luckily. The graphics is great though. Its has great bright color scheme that compliments these bright yellow fellows. Its quite impressive too. The fur and fabric details are also really nice. The animations are smooth and expressive. Also the fabric physics and such is quite realistic.
Overall, this movie quite enjoyable and pretty. Its a nice feel good movie. I've heard people have issues with minions, but I haven't looked into why. I assume its because they serve "evil" but Despicable Me has clearly made a difference between "evil" and nice guys that just happen to steal stuff, haha.
