Pixel People
This is a app game that's a mix of Simcity and Tiny Tower. The pixel art has a cute retro look and the game play is pretty simple. Its slow when you start to loading it since it shows the company logos and it will take you to a splash image that you have to tap to start playing. The tutorial is easy to understand and not too long. Of course you can just wait it out when they prompt you to use cash currency which is called "utopia" or "u" for short. You can't actually exchange the free game currency for u's. You can view ads to earn free u'sThe game starts off at a nice pace with not much wait to improve and build your city. The game will give you hints along the way which can read at the Town Hall where all the settings and such are also located. Once you get to around level 8 things starts to slow down dramatically. When you level up your allow another 10 extra spaces to build on, but each level costs a certain amount of money. And that amount sky rockets pretty fast from about 2mil to 5mil and then to 9mil! At this point you have to figure out what to do with the limitations that you have. I ended up building quite a bit of homes so I had to splice people that require 0 land requirements. The game hints you that you should fill up each buildings to increase revenue so you have to choice between making repeated jobs or new jobs.
You tap on buildings to get them to start working but they don't work for too long (some seriously last for minutes). That means you have to keep checking on the game to tap the buildings to start working again. You can make them work longer but it requires u's which I think would be worth it. Some buildings will unlock features or shortcuts in the game. For example, the construction yard makes you be able to build roads and the sheriff's office shows you the credit list.
An odd feature in the game is collecting hearts from targeted homes to gain bonuses like unlocking animals or game currency. The game hardly lags, but zooming in and out of the city is awkward. But overall this game is simple and neat. Plus its free!
