Ensemble Stars App game
For the past couple months I've seen a bit of promotion for this game, and today its finally out for iOS and Andriod! They're Japanese only so you will need to have a Japanese iTunes account or use QooApp for Andriod users to get this mobile game. Knowing Japanese will help with the game, but its worth a try to see if you like it or not. I will do my best to explain the game!
You are a girl who transferred to this idol school, and you are a student producer. You help the male idol students by giving them lessons and level up. The beginning tutorial is a tad long, but the gameplay isn't too difficult. During the tutorial you get to choose which idol group you like. You don't get to know each group before you choose so be sure to check out the main website for some information. It will then give you a high star rated card from that group. If you don't get the card you want you can start over. Your starting unit will have a mix of boys from different groups so you don't start with the group you just chose. You do have all the boys 1 star cards though so after the tutorial you can pick the ones you like to be part of your unit.
The big yellow button is where you do the lessons. Choose a course which are of each group, and each lesson features one member of that group. You can't have this member in your unit. Each lesson also have their own missions which will light up the trophy and events which are triggered by the featured member. Completing the feature member event will unlock a voice clip!
Tap the yellow button, and it will take you to a screen with chibis, and 5 location blocks at the bottom. Locations can differ, but there will always be a infirmary room where the tutorial guy will up Luck no matter which answer you choose. The top left corner shows the number of lessons you can do. Tapping on one of the locations at the bottom will make the chibis do a move, and do a lesson. Each location has colored icons that shows which skill or skills will be upped (red is Dancing, blue is Vocal, and yellow is Performance). The chibis will move to different locations after a lesson is done.
Sometimes jewels will be dropped, and sometimes one of the chibis will have a ! pop and you will get an event to talk to the boy. This is where we up our intimacy with them. Three choices will pop up in every one of these events so choosing one will either give you a heart, jewels, or increase or decrease of luck. If you have the Google Translate app, it has a photo import feature where it can translate the words on a image. So if you want to know what they're saying, take a screenshot and use the app to translate it. When you get a heart, it will take you to that boy's sub story where you have to tap his body in the right place in order to increase intimacy. So if you're aiming for certain boys, be sure to find him and keep giving him lessons in order to increase the event chances. For the feature member, they have a special event bar under their chibi. Keep doing lessons on them, and you will encounter the event. You get 3 normal events and then 3 special events. These events are the same so if you mess up, you can do the lesson again and choose a different choice.
Other than getting intimate with the boys, you also get challenged. This is where you duel another unit of boys. These are not players so this is not a PvP challenge. The set up does look like a fighting game in a way. It will show you 5 skill icons, and these are the steps or turns. You would choose the card that specializes in that skill in order to win that turn. When you tap a boy, their stats will show. Tap him again to confirm using him for the turn. You get 5 turns, and you need 3 wins to win the challenge. Each boy can't go more than once! You can also tap the skip button on the top right to just get the results instead of doing the turns. Winning will increase your rank level, the boys' card levels, and you can get jewels and producer points.
The rank level is your main level and it will unlock the main story chapters. Leveling up and getting intimacy level up will unlock clothing, and sub stories of the boys. Main story is the book icon, and the cards icon is where you can view the cards you have.
Tap one and it will show information on that card. It will show the level and stats. Below it is Idol Road which is like a skill tree. This is where those jewels are needed.
The tree just boosts the card's stats. Down the tree there might be squares that unlock costumes and stuff though it depends on the card's stars. At the end of the tree is a flower icon. When you get there the card's illustration will change and boost your stats.
Back to the card stats screen, below the card's image are two buttons, the left is the magnify the photo and the right is to go to the boy's classroom. Tap that and it will lead you where you can change the boy's clothes, see intimacy rank, read their story chapters, voice clips, and card album. The button at the bottom is how you make that boy be the boy on your main screen. You can also tap the boy and he will talk.
To get higher starred cards you need to scout. To scout tap on the icon of a map which will take you to the school grounds map. The orange button with images of cards and a door is the Scout Gacha. You have 3 options here: Diamond scout is using 15 diamonds for 1 card or 145 diamonds for 10 cards with best chance of getting 3-4 star cards, 10,000p(producer) point gacha is 3 star card and 100,000 for 10 3 star cards, and last is point scout using 100p for one card and 1,000 for 10 and these will mostly be 1-2 star cards.
Back to the school map, the red button with a stage is the PvP area. This play exactly like the challenges during lessons. Your unit is on the left side and you can change the cards by tapping the orange button. Tap on one of players on the list on the right side to duel. Winning will give you about 100p points. You have two different units one for lessons and one for PvP. You can see them better by tapping the Unit icon with 3 male chibis. The blue button with the notebook is just another way to look at the boy's intimacy stuff. The other buttons are the settings and cash shop.
So yeah this is pretty much the game right now. Just level up and unlock stuff. The boys are cute, and the animations are pretty impressive. There isn't much of a gameplay to it so its not the most interesting game, but its worth trying! Please let me know if you have any questions or if I made any mistakes.

Thank you so much for this guide! I downloaded this game today~ it's overwhelming cuz of the things you can do inside. I really like the Undead group so far. I thought I'm going to hear their songs though ahaha
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I thought there were going to be songs as well, but hopefully there will be some in the future.
