LINE Play (Updated)

LINE Play is a Japanese game app that's becoming popular in Asia and is available globally. This app game is adorable! Once you have the game you also have to sign up for a Line account which is their free call and text app that is the top app messaging app in Asia. Its a free app that you can get on whichever itunes account. You need to use your phone number to validate, and there’s no countries restriction should your number should do it. They will send you a text that will need to input into Line and now you can setup an account with your email and a password that you will use to play Line Play. You can delete the Line app when you're done, but if you ever get logged off the Line app will automatically login for you.
The game is just decorating your house and dressing up. You start up by choosing between a boy, a girl, or a cute animal as your avatar. You just visit other people’s homes to give them hearts and fulfill actions like cleaning and eating which gives you gems. And there’s also chatrooms and I believe that's basically it. You have a choice to have global access in the settings or just stick to your own region. Global will have your profile available to global players most of which are asian.

On the main area screen you will see your avatar standing next to your house. On the upper left corner is notifications of other players giving you hearts or album stamps and private chat. This corner will change to a left arrow icon to go to the previous area. On the upper right side is the quests which gives you gems and you total gem count. The bottom is self explanatory. The More goes to game news, settings, edit your profile, gem information, notification options, sound setting, keyboard setting, privacy settings, help, and service information as well as mini games and avatar of the day. In profile you can change your name and add status message or bio, and change the background of you avatar icon. You can also reset the game in profile too. The best part is the invite code where you can get 1000 gems for both you and the person who uses your invite code. You can only enter one and you can have up to 10 people to use your code. Tapping on the red button that reads "+1000" will reveal your code (orange text).

Back to the main area screen, the blue My Room obviously goes to your room/house which you can also enter by tapping on the door of the house. In your room, on the bottom right will be a yellow menu button. Tapping it will reveal more buttons: closet, room furnishings, shop, and random. Closet and room buttons shows all the items you have. You can also change your clothes and decorate your room. Tapping the shop button will reveal more areas: fashion, interior, present, and gacha. Fashion and interior go to purchase clothes and furniture. Gift are items that aren't available in the stores of gacha that you have to give someone, and gacha are coin operated vending machines that give exclusive items. These are like mystery gift boxes in similar games, but gacha or gashapon are popular in Japan and are popular in Japanese games. The gacha items are quite pricey and there are weekend limited ones.

The yellow sign in the main area is the lounge or chatrooms. The green sign is your friends list. There's a list of your friends, a tab for friend requests, and a search tab. The upper right corner button is to edit your list. The Add Friends is where you also find Official avatars to add. When you go to the Random button or tap on the animated rainbow warp hole in the main screen will take you to a random players room. When you visit a other people's room sometimes speech bubbles appear to indicate an action. Tapping them will have your avatar perform the action and get gems. Its kinda of annoying to wait for your avatar to walk up to the item and avatar of the person you visit will copy you which I don't get. There is a daily limit to doing this and you reach your limit when a big yellow gem appears on your screen. The limit is reset for me at 5-4pm EST. You can still do eating, sleeping, and bathing actions when your avatar feels like it but it will not reward as much gems. Everyone has a red photo album and when you open it there is a daily bonus. Doing anything with the album doesn't reward you any gems. You get photos from when you change your clothes and the game will ask if you want to take a photo. Your avatar's emotion and body language is kinda randomized and you don't get to choose it. People can view your album and give photos stamps of emoticons. And that's pretty much the game!

Overall, this game is cute and very casual. The art style is really lovely and attractive! This game is casual and very simple that is can be pretty boring for some people but I recommend it.

Also sometimes there be announcements of new official avatars and rooms that are not even available to the US but only for Japan. If you want to bypass this you can! The old method no longer works for this. The new method to change to Japanese is to go to settings in Line Play and changing the language to Japanese 日本語 and it will auto restart. That's it! The game will be in Japanese and you will have access to the Japanese only gacha which are usually the anime stuff like Attack on Titan, YowaPedal, Monster Hunter, etc. Change the language back to English once you want to go back.  You have to go to your idevice's settings and go to International and you have to change the language to Japanese which is written as 日本語 it will take a minute or two for your device to change. So when you open up Line Play it will be in Japanese now, but it will have re-download things so the loading will take awhile. You can now purchase Japan only items, and it will still be there when you switch back to English. When you open the app in English again it will re-download again so loading will take awhile again. This is tedious so if the item is worth it go for it!
