IDOLiSH7

An anime was announced for this and I wanted to try the game out. I have heard of this game before but since I don't have much space on my phone I didn't give it a try when it came out. Unlike Ensemble Stars, IDOLiSH7 is an actual rhythm game like Love Live. Since I never played these kind of mobile game before it did take me a minute to figure everything out.

This game is only in Japanese but there are translations and guides to help you if you still want to play this. The art and characters aren't as good looking to me as Ensemble Stars is, but the guys are ages 17-22 so they aren't babies at least. What I like about this game so far is that the story part of the game are all fully voiced. My reading isn't as good as my listening so this really helped. The guys don't move around like in Ensemble Stars though. I didn't expect an actual story from this game. Its not bad and I can see it being an anime pretty well. As for the guys themselves, they are likable. Their personality are on the safe side or none or really eccentric except perhaps Nagi who is a weeb and speaks in that foreigner accent I dislike. I really didn't like him because I felt its a bit offensive, but since I can't really get rid of him I have come to tolerate him. His silliness is just laughable, but he isn't a bad guy.

Since this is a rhythm game, it does have actual songs and the guys actually singing. You unlock more songs when you do the story stuff. Each song has 4 levels of difficulty: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Expert. Easy is unlocked first and to get the others unlocked you would usually need to achieve a certain grade on the previous level. For example, to unlock Hard you need to get an A or above in Normal. Each level of difficulty has their own Live Challenge which gives you rewards when you reach a certain achievement. If you get an SS score, you can clear all the Score rewards. Playing the songs will give you experience which levels your rank level and well as the cards. You also get cards as a drop too. The background will change when you are doing well with the song as you play and this to me makes it difficult to see the silver orbs. There is a pause option and when you unpause it will give you a countdown before the song resumes. There is a blue-ish gear clock looking button before starting a live and it the Auto Play feature. You don't get experience or anything from it though.

Like with any other game with cards, you have the ability to make unit of five cards, level them up by feeding them other cards, and raising its rarity by awakening it with doubles of the same card. The gacha in this game is called Audition. The low rarity ones uses FP (Friend Point) which you get from live challenge, login bonus, and other players using you as their assist card. Rare Audition is where you can rare cards using the cash currency called Stellar Stones which are the pink diamond star thing. You may also get a Ticket which gives you another way to get cards from Rare Audition. When you get new cards from Rare Audition you also get SP which is used with the Scout Catalog. You can pick a card to get with your SP but they do cost like 2000SP. When you clear chapter 8 stor, you will unlock special training for your cards. This requires certain items like souls and tokens which are used to increase the stats for your card.

I've only done on event which is a bingo type of event. There seems to be other types, but they all involve playing the songs. How well you play the songs and perhaps your cards, you will receive the event cards.

So far this game has been rather fun. The songs are actually not bad and I haven't hated any of them nor have I've gotten sick of them yet. The difficulty of some of the songs is also quite intimating. I am going to play this casually and not get too into the events like I do with other games.
