Review of Shiseido, Mekuru, and Naruko's Facial Cotton Pads

These are asian cotton pads which are different than the ones you would find at a drugstore. These are more durable, non-textured, thick square pads which you can pull apart to make a mini facial mask of your toner. Typically one cotton pad has five layers: one for you forehead, two of both cheeks, one for your chin, and the last one for you nose. I like ripping a thin strip from the stretched square to use on my upper lip and the rest goes on my nose. These are also used to apply skincare especially toner.

Shiseido's cotton pads are perfect in size (a little over than a inch) and is really soft and has a kind of sponginess. It is also thick and compact which makes pulling apart the layers quite difficult. I can't stretch the pad much either but its enough. Its also on the thin side but it doesn't break as easily. Over all, this is a great product and it comes in a square bag rather than a box. Great for putting on skincare products.

Mekuru's is a cheaper cotton pad easily found in asian stores. These are more rectangular than square and the layers are loosely put together which makes it really easy to pull apart but I think this product is designed for that as oppose to Shiseido's. The quality is what you paid for, kind of cheap so its not as soft and more paper like. But they stretch really well and does its job. So this is a really good cheap cotton pad. It comes in colored box (mine is blue)and perforated opening like a tissue box.

Naruko's, is in between Mekuru and Shiseido. Its affordable but not made with cheap material. Its not as soft as Shiseido's but its still nice. I think it might be bigger than Shiseido's but I ran out of it before I could compare. This product has an extra layer of a net like texture which is used for exfoliating. I actually don't use that side since I don't need any extra exfoliation, but I did try it and it is gentle. This stretches as well as Mekuru's but like Shiseido's, the layers are thin so you could tear them easily Its not as hard to pull them apart as Shiseido's but its still takes me a minute to get them separated. It also tricky to pull apart evenly. Sometimes I end up with a really thin layer and other times a thick layer. These cotton pads come in a white rectangle box and is bagged in clear plastic bag with a perforated opening in the middle.

I am unable to buy Mekuru's online, but for Shiseido and Naruko they both can be found online and usually comes in three packs for a good price. These should last you for a few months. Quality wise Naruko and Shiseido's are the best I've had.
