River's Edge is a movie about a town by a river and the youth that lives there. They don't verbally say it, but there's lots of shots of factories by the river and all the pollution so its implying that it may have some side effects to the mental health of the teens. This movie is pretty dark and weird as hell. Not exactly something I would recommend unless you don't mind it. I just watched it for Yoshizawa Ryo who plays as a gay teen who gets badly bullied.

The movie follows a girl name Haruna who seems to be dating this bully who beats this gay boy up name Yamada. Haruna always goes to help Yamada once she finds out he got beat up again. Because she helps him he strikes a friendship with her. We also follow Haruna's friend who is sleeping with her boyfriend. The movie has these interview scenes with the characters where the off screen interviewer asks personal questions which is weird. Its a neat way to get to know the characters but its a bit weird since it doesn't make sense. This movie also has quite a bit of graphic sex scenes as well as violence. There's quite a bit of troubling stuff going on in this movie so please don't watch if it triggers you. This movie is disturbing and the ending isn't even satisfying.
