Ossan's Love (2018)
Ossan's Love is a Japanese drama story about a love triangle between three men who are working in the same real estate office. This is more of a comedic story than an romance story. There is also a movie version that came out in 2016. You follow Haruta, a single 33 year old man who wants to get married but isn't popular with women at all. He also lives with his mother but she decided to leave the house so he could learn to live independently. Haruta gets the newbie coworker Maki to be his roommate since Maki knows how to cook and do house chores. Haruta ends up having Maki, and his boss Kurosawa confessing their love for him.
I haven't watched a Japanese drama in years, but this caught my eye since quite a bit of the Japanese artists I follow on twitter have been tweeting about it that it caught my interest. Unfortunately this show doesn't seem to have anyone subbing it in english. So far, the dialogue has been easy for me to understand despite not being fluent in the language. I do hope it does get subbed because I do find this show entertaining. The characters and actors are great, and the story is silly but I love it.
Haruta is not a bad looking fellow, but he is quite childish. Kurosawa, Haruta's boss, is a much older man and is also married. He is a respected boss that Haruta looks up to. The actors for Haruta and Kurosawa are the same in the movie and the tv show. Everything else is different. Haruta's roommate is different, the company they work at is different, the close female friend of Haruta is different, but the story is relatively the same. The movie is short too so the story is at a faster pace, and shorter than the tv show for sure. The show does have better pacing and the story is more interesting. Overall, I do recommend watching this! Please visit the official twitter or instagram to watch the trailers!
